Today made me think about the disservice we have done to some students by imposing our schooling system on them. The Manaiakalani pedagogy is to improve outcomes for students by giving them learning tools to support and empower.
The "Share" part of Learn, Create, Share is giving students a worldwide audience to showcase their learning through blogging. Students then have a far greater audience for their learning.
I learned some shortcuts and tips for making Google documents and also how to use Add-Ons so that it will be easier to make documents. I will use the sharing documents with my students when doing activities so students have the opportunity to collaborate with each other. I am also thinking about using Voice typing as part of my writing inquiry for this term.
Command, Shift 4 gives me a screenshot which has improved my capability. I also learned more about creating tables in Google as I have been a bit frustrated with this.

Great to hear about your journey so far! As someone who has been through this, Im sure you will find learn create share rewarding and invigorating. I look forward to hearing more
ReplyDeleteKia ora Lisa, I hope you students enjoy learning with you the use of digital technologies and how it can be used for effective communication.
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa, I used the Voice Typing to do one of my blogposts about my DFI learning. It was a fun activity and one I'm sure you and your students will enjoy. Check out my voice typing post by clicking here . PS: Make sure you speak clearly in the microphone so that Docs can translate your words. Teresa.
ReplyDeleteTena koe Lisa, a great reflection, there are so many powerful tools and add ons in chrome that enable both us as teachers and our learners. Screenshots are an amazing tool to empower those who are being bullied online as evidence. I would use screen shots maybe ten times a day (none for bullying luckily).
ReplyDeleteKia ora Lisa,
ReplyDeleteI am a Manaiakalani Outreach Facilitator in Tairāwhiti. What a fabulous learning opportunity for you. Your post has reminded me that shortcuts are so powerful - I must brush up on some.
Ngā mihi
