Online Toolkits

Yesterday afternoon I attended two online toolkits as part of Manaiakalani PD. The first one was  When Basic Facts Backfire: How to engage your learners in Maths.
This was great and I will use the quiz template with my students so that they can create and share their learning. There were also some great examples shared for Digital fluent Mathematicians: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1oGSVKYkRjsU0Ut8YH0voECpLKj0j5PzkfrGND2dys-E/edit?zx=x21t8lcm7t53#slide=id.p
The second toolkit was Te Reo Maori 101
I got a little lost in this one but there were some valuable resources shared. They also discussed the difference between Mihimihi and Pepeha which I found interesting - they said that Pepeha was more about where you are form - e.g. whakatauki etc and Mihihmihi is your genealogy.

Blogging Tips

Today I was getting my students to add an item to their blogs. I went back to my notes on this blog to refresh my memory about how to embed slides into a blog. I couldn't remember how to change the size so had to ask Tina. It was to change the sizing in HTML. The sizing ended up being 650W x 369H. The formatting changed when transferring a Google Doc into a blog and I'd forgotten to press CTRL SHIFT C, CTRL SHIFT V.
